How does the humidification function work?

The disk stack which rotates slowly in the water has a surface area of up to 4.2 m². When the dry air comes into contact with this large surface area of water, it absorbs moisture and invisibly releases it into the room (according to the cold evaporation principle).

Can particles or substances from the hygiene additive be emitted into the room air from the Airwasher?

Venta Airwashers work using the proven cold evaporation principle. This technology does not allow any release of particles or aerosols into the air. We engaged the technical testing organization TÜV Nord to certify this fact. TÜV Nord confirmed that no aerosols which can enter the lungs are emitted from the appliance, either with or without the hygiene additive.

HOW FAST IS DRY ROOM AIR HUMIDIFIED?

In the first days of use, the evaporated water is absorbed by dry objects in the room (e.g. books, wooden furniture, textiles, plants etc.). The optimal humidity is only achieved in the room after this stage.

WHERE SHOULD I POSITION THE APPLIANCE?

Set up the appliance so it can draw in and expel air without any obstructions. That means free space above the appliance (e.g. not underneath a table) and a minimum distance from walls, furniture etc. of 0.5 m on all sides.

WHAT IS THE OPTIMAL OPERATION TIME OF THE AIRWASHER?

That depends on your individual needs. The appliance achieves a greater purifying and humidifying effect the longer it is in operation. Over-humidification is not possible.

WHAT IS THE CORRECT WAY TO VENTILATE A ROOM?

We recommend ventilating in short bursts several times a day. (Leaving windows open constantly drastically reduces the purifying and humidifying effect.)

CAN THE APPLIANCE RUN FOR 24 HOURS PER DAY?

Yes, it is suitable for continuous operation. It has an extremely low power consumption at a motor output of less than 8 Watts.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE APPLIANCE IS OUT OF USE FOR A LONGER PERIOD?

You can put the appliance back into operation without problems at any time. We recommend cleaning the machine before storage so that no limescale sediments can harden in the water tray. 

CAN THE UPPER HOUSING BE DISMANTLED?

Yes, it is easy to dismantle the upper housing (see the section “Cleaning the upper part of the appliance” in the operating manual).

WHAT DOES COMFORT Plus MEAN?

This NEW model range comes with extra features such as the at-a-glance touch display. You can easily read off and alter the settings on the screen.
The information displayed includes:

  • Relative humidity in the room 
  • Reminder of action needed for perfectly hygienic constant operation
  • Sleep mode for restful, quiet nights
  • Automatic mode for automatic power level regulation

Is it necessary to use the hygiene additive developed by Venta?

Our hygiene additive combats limescale in your appliance and ensures the disks are fully wetted for optimal water evaporation.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO USE THE HYGIENE ADDITIVE?

  1. The additive significantly reduces the surface tension of the water. That ensures the individual disks in the disk stack are evenly wetted (the water does not form beads that roll off). Only then can the appliance optimally humidify and purify the air.
  2. It guarantees hygienic, perfect operation. 
  3. The additive modifies the crystalline structure of the limescale, creating a very fine sediment which can be removed simply by rinsing
    with tap water. 

Not suitable for Airwasher and Air Purifier models with hygiene disks.

HOW MUCH VENTA HYGIENE ADDITIVE SHOULD I USE?

Change the water in your Airwasher approx. every 14 days. Only add a new dose of additive when you change the water, not when you just top it up. See the back of the bottle to find the right quantity for the various models.

DO RESIDUES IN THE LOWER HOUSING AND ON THE DISK STACK IMPAIR THE FUNCTION OF THE AIRWASHER?

No. All residues in the lower housing and on the disk stack (white, green-yellowish or brownish deposits) do NOT impair the function of the Venta Airwasher. Using the Venta hygiene additive guarantees problem-free, hygienic operation.

WHY SHOULDN’T I USE ANY OTHER ADDITIVES?

Only additives from Venta-Luftwäscher GmbH are specially formulated for use on the plastics used for Venta appliances. Other additives such as perfumed oils (including essential oils) from drug stores and pharmacies as well as cleaning agents can damage the plastic. Venta-Luftwäscher GmbH accepts no liability for such damage.

Can the Airwasher be switched on and off with a timer?

Yes. You can use a simple timer to control your Venta Airwasher. When switched on again, it resumes with the settings last used.

Does the Airwasher work even with very hard tap water?

Yes. Our recommended Venta hygiene additive protects your Airwasher from stubborn limescale deposits.

The membrane structure in the VENTAcel H13 is much more even. The fibres are just 100 nanometres thick. This means they hold back smaller particles than HEPA filters.

How often should I change the filters? And what do they cost?

Depending on the air quality in your room and how often you use the appliance, you should change the filters after about one year.
Your Venta LP60 WiFi App Control tells you when you need to change the two filters. VENTAcel filters retail at €24.90 each (RRP).

How loud is the Venta LP60 Ultra / VENTA LP60 WiFi?

The noise levels of the LP60 WiFi App Control range from an ultra-quiet 19dB(A) at power level 1 to a quiet 51dB(A) at level 5. Even switched to “Boost”, the noise is still very low, at 60db(A). That’s roughly as loud as a normal conversation.

What does the Venta hygiene disk do?

It prevents limescale deposits. The hygiene disk contains a water softener granulate impregnated with silver ions to prevent contamination by microbes. Together, these functions ensure hygienic operation.

Can the Airwasher be switched on and off with a timer?

The LPH60 WiFi App Control has a built-in timer you can use to automatically switch it on. Alternatively, you can add your own timer.

When should I replace the filter?

If you use your appliance continuously, you should replace filters after about one year, depending on the level of impurities in the air.
The Venta app and the touch display inform you when the filter needs replacing.

What are the advantages of the app?

With the Venta app, you can easily operate the Hybrid LPH60 WiFi App Control remotely – even on the go. Simply download it from the play store or app store.

Where should I position the LPH60 WiFi App Control? What do I have to take into account?

Set up the appliance so it can draw in and expel air without any obstructions. That means a minimum space of 0.5 m above the appliance and
a distance from walls, furniture etc. of 0.2 m on all sides.

How often should I change the filter? How do I know when to change the filter?

The lifetime of the filter depends on the hours of operation and the air quality in your room. Generally, if you operate your Air Purifier for 24 hours a day, you should change the filter after one year. The interactive touch display will remind you of this.

Do I need to clean the pre-filter?

We recommend that you occasionally clean the pre-filter (use a vacuum cleaner or rinse with water). You should do this every 1-2 months or as required.

What’s the difference between the VENTAcel H13 filter and a HEPA filter?

How should I use the hygiene additive?

Add to the water the first time you fill the tray. The markings on the bottle help you use the right quantity for your Venta appliance. Simply top up regularly with fresh water. The water reactivates the hygiene additive. After cleaning the water tray (every 10 to 14 days), always add Venta hygiene additive to the fresh water. And of course, you also need to add it after every thorough clean (every 6 months).

This ensures your Airwasher continues to work perfectly. One bottle is roughly enough for one winter season (5 months). Shake well before use!

Is the hygiene additive harmful to health?

Over more than ten years of use in our customers’ Airwashers, Venta hygiene additive has done its job millions of times without a single report of health problems.

Is the hygiene additive released into the air during evaporation?

Absolutely not! This has been verified, also by special laboratory testing. The results show that the additive does not evaporate. None of the ingredients in the Venta hygiene additive evaporate. They remain inside the appliance until removed during cleaning (approx. every 10-14 days).

Does the hygiene additive smell?

The additive is odourless.

Is the hygiene additive necessary even when I use distilled water?

We recommend that you also use the hygiene additive with distilled water. Using distilled water largely prevents limescale deposits, but the additive is still necessary to ensure complete wetting of the disk stack.

How long can I store the hygiene additive?

If stored in a cool, dark place, Venta hygiene additive keeps for up to 30 months. After opening, use up within 12 months.

Do the residues in the lower housing and on the disk stack impair the function of the
Venta Airwasher?

No. All residues in the lower housing and on the disk stack (white, green-yellowish or brownish precipitation) do NOT impair the function of the
Venta Airwasher. Using the Venta hygiene additive guarantees problem-free, hygienic operation.

Why use fragrance oils in the Humidifiers?

Your Venta Humidifier ensures natural humidity by means of cold evaporation. This can provide many health benefits: relief for allergy sufferers, reduced risk of colds and milder symptoms, moistened mucous membranes.

How should I use fragrance oils?

Ideally, in combination with an Humidifier to create a natural, pleasantly scented atmosphere. Depending on the size of your room, simply add
5 to 10 drops of oil directly to the water tray. And enjoy.

How should I use the Venta appliance cleaner?

LW25/45 Comfort Plus and LW15/25/45 Original:

For thorough cleaning (approx. every 6 months), pour the entire contents of the bottle into the fresh water and let the appliance run on a low setting for around 2 hours. Then empty out the dirty water and rinse with cold water. We recommend that you ventilate the room during cleaning to avoid any odors which can occur if the appliance is very dirty.

LW60T WiFi App Control and LPH60 WiFi App Control:

Start the cleaning program by pressing the Clean button on the screen, then follow the instructions. You also need a 250-ml bottle of appliance cleaner.

Why should I use the appliance cleaner from Venta?

Venta appliance cleaner is an eco-friendly, mild cleaning agent. It was specially developed to guarantee perfectly hygienic operation of
Venta Humidifiers over a long service life. Please never use other, acidic cleaners or descaling agents. They often contain harmful additives
(solvents, formic acid etc.) and can cause stress corrosion on parts made from synthetic materials.

How long can I store the appliance cleaner?

If stored in a cool, dry place, Venta appliance cleaner keeps for up to 30 months.

Is Venta appliance cleaner corrosive?

We deliberately avoid aggressive, highly corrosive additives. As a result, our cleaner is not only highly biodegradable, but it also does not damage the quality materials used in Venta appliances.

Does the room smell while the Humidifier is being cleaned?

The cleaner itself is odorless. However, if your Humidifier is very dirty, cleaning may cause smells. We recommend placing your Venta Humidifier next to an open window during cleaning (approx. 2 hours).

Do I still need the appliance cleaner if I use the hygiene additive as recommended?

Yes, we recommend that you thoroughly clean your appliance regularly even if you use the hygiene additive. This helps extend the service life of your Humidifier.
