How does the Venta Humidifier humidify?

The Venta Humidifier operates by the process of cold evaporation humidification, so you will not see any white residue, vapors, or mists. The disk stack rotates in the water creating a surface area over 45 square feet (LW45). When dry air meets the surface area of the disk stack, the water evaporates and is sent out into the room. By using the cold evaporation process, any excess humidity can be virtually ruled out.

How do I know there are no germs in the water?

The Venta Water Treatment Additive reliably prevents the growth of germs. You should clean the device every 10-14 days (empty the water, rinse the lower housing and the disk stack with water) because the washed-out air pollutants collect on the bottom of the water reservoir.

When is the best time to run the Venta Humidifier?

That depends on individual needs. Because the Venta Humidifier is very energy efficient, operating costs are very low even when used all the time. For consistent results, it should be run continuously.

What level of humidity can be expected and how often should the lower housing be filled?

Under ideal conditions, a humidity level of 40-60% can be expected. Some factors affecting humidity levels are heating/cooling, home insulation, the layout of the home, air circulation, furniture, floors, musical instruments, ambient indoor temperature, and the amount of water in the appliance. For severely dry areas or during the first days of use, you may notice the water evaporates more quickly and/or a lower humidity level will be reached. The water level of the lower housing should be checked and topped off daily.

Where should I position the Venta Humidifier?

The Venta Humidifier should be placed in the center of the room on the floor, or along a wall on the floor away from windows and any heat source. When using your Venta Humidifier for multiple rooms (larger model Venta Humidifiers) it should be placed centrally between rooms. Allow 18-20 inches above and on all sides of the Venta Humidifier to allow proper air circulation. Set up the appliance so it can draw in and expel air without any obstructions. That means free space above the appliance (e.g. not underneath a table) and a minimum distance from walls or furniture of 18-20 inches on all sides.

Will opening outside doors and windows affect the efficiency of the Venta Humidifier?

The appliance works best in closed spaces free of drafts to maintain a consistent level of humidity – just as windows and outside doors are closed when the air conditioner is running. Doors between rooms may be left open to allow for air circulation.

What happens if the water evaporates while the unit is still on?

First and foremost, the Venta Humidifier is only humidifying when water is in the appliance. However, the Water Treatment Additive holds dirt and dust particles down on the bottom of the lower housing. When there is insufficient water in the lower housing, a red light indicator will appear and the motor of the LW15/LW25/LW45 Original Humidifier or the Water indicator will illuminate on the LW25/LW45 Comfort Plus Humidifier, and the unit will shut off automatically.

What happens when the Venta Humidifier has not been run for an extended period of time?

Simply give the appliance a general cleaning with the Venta Cleaner before using the Venta Humidifier again. Tip: Use of the Venta Humidifier Cleaner is recommended before storing the appliance for an extended period of time to remove any mineral deposits that can harden over time. You may also take advantage of Venta’s Ultrasonic Cleaning Services.

What is the best way to clean the Venta Humidifier?

Every 10 to 14 days the lower housing should be rinsed/wiped out with a damp sponge. The disk stack should be rinsed off and/or brushed off with a soft brush or sponge. Periodically, the Venta Cleaner can be used for a thorough cleaning. At all times care should be taken to keep water away from the motor. For heavy build-up, we recommend cleaning the humidifier with a 50/50 mixture of water and white vinegar. Please see the user manual for more information.

Which Venta Humidifier is right for me?

Measure your space including any adjoining spaces that cannot be closed off (length X width) and choose the corresponding Venta Humidifier based on the coverage area. For factors such as vaulted ceilings, rooms with fireplaces, desert conditions, higher heating temperatures, musical instruments, exotic plants, or pets, we suggest going up one size to maintain ideal conditions.

What is the difference between the Original Series and Comfort Plus Series?

The Comfort Plus 5 Series utilizes the same natural humidification process as the Original 5 Series, with the addition of advanced new features. The digital touch display with a built-in hygrometer shows the relative humidity in your space, reminder indicators for low water or necessary service, plus new settings for sleep and automatic modes.

How quickly is dry room air humidified?

We recommend running the humidifier 24/7 at the highest speed for 7-10 days. In the first days of use, the evaporated water is absorbed by dry objects in the room (e.g. books, wooden furniture, textiles, plants, etc.). The optimal humidity is only achieved in the room after this stage.

Does the Venta Humidifier work even with very hard tap water?

Yes. Our recommended Venta Water Treatment Additive protects your humidifier from stubborn calcium and limescale deposits.

Can the humidifier be switched on and off with a smart plug?

The Original and Comfort Plus Humidifiers can be set on a smart plug. When switched on again, the humidifier resumes with the settings last used.

Why is the wheel on my humidifier spinning slowly?

This is the normal operation of the disk stack(s) in the Venta Humidifier in order to avoid vigorous splashing as well as keep the unit quiet.

Why is my humidifier making a clicking noise?

  1. Possible mineral deposit contamination. Clean the black Gear Box prongs with white vinegar and a toothbrush
  2. Rubber coupling is not inserted all the way into the gear. Simply remove the Gear Box and reinsert securely.
  3. Call customer service for additional assistance at 888-333-8218

Why isn't there any mist coming out of my humidifier?

This is the normal operation of the Venta Humidifier, as it works through cold evaporative humidification.

What is the expected wait time for the Ultrasonic Cleanings?

It typically takes 2-3 weeks for the cleaning to be completed, though it may take significantly longer during the busy season due to the high demand. We recommend that customers have units cleaned during the off-peak season to avoid long waits for Ultrasonic Cleanings. For the current estimated wait time, you may contact Venta Support at 888-333-8218 or [email protected].

What is the optimal operation time of the humidifier?

That depends on your individual needs. The Venta Humidifier achieves a greater humidifying effect the longer it is in operation. Over-humidification is not possible.

What is the correct way to ventilate a space?

We recommend ventilating in short bursts several times a day. (Leaving windows open constantly drastically reduces the humidifying effect.)

Can the Venta Humidifier run for 24 hours a day?

Yes, it is suitable for continuous operation. It has an extremely low power consumption at a motor output of fewer than 8 watts (select models).

Where can I purchase replacement parts?

Replacement parts can be purchased over the phone at 888-333-8218 during normal business hours.

What happens if the appliance is out of use for a longer period of time?

You can put the appliance back into operation without problems at any time. We recommend cleaning the humidifier before storage so that no calcium or limescale sediments can harden in the water tray.

Why is the Service Indicator Light shown on my Comfort Plus Humidifier?

After every 14 days, the Service indicator will illuminate to alert you that it is time to clean your humidifier. Once you have emptied your unit, rinsed the lower housing & disk stack, and added a new dosage of Water Treatment Additive, you can press and hold the Service indicator for 3-5 seconds until it disappears.

How does the LW60T/LW62T/AW902 humidify the air?

The LW60T Kuube L-T and LW62T Kuube XL-T utilize the same natural humidification process of cold evaporation used in our 5 Series in order to add moisture to the air and raise the relative humidity level. Dry indoor air is pulled into the device and is passed over our Venta Disc Stack as it rotates in water. When the dry air makes contact with the wet Disc Stack, it picks up moisture and is sent back into your room humidified. This process creates no vapors, mists, ozone, or white dust and rules out the possibility of over-humidification.

Is it necessary to use the Venta Water Treatment Additive?

The Water Treatment Additive helps prevent mineral deposits from becoming hard and difficult to remove – any sediment can be easily rinsed out. In addition, the Water Treatment Additive helps improve the efficiency of the Venta Humidifier by allowing the water to sheet on the disc stack instead of “beading” up – allowing maximum use of every square inch of the disc stack. The Water Treatment Additive also helps prevent odors and improves the performance of the Venta Humidifier. Our Water Treatment Additive not only prevents germ growth, but it also combats calcium and limescale build-up in your appliance and ensures the disc stack(s) are fully wetted for optimal water evaporation.

Why is it important to use the Water Treatment Additive?

  1. The additive significantly reduces the surface tension of the water. That ensures the individual disks in the disk stacks are evenly wetted (the water does not form beads that roll-off). Only then can the appliance optimally humidify and purify the air.
  2. It provides hygienic, perfect operation.
  3. The additive modifies the crystalline structure of the calcium and limescale, creating fine sediment which can be removed simply by rinsing with tap water.

Not suitable for humidifier and Airwasher models with Hygiene Discs.

How much Venta Water Treatment Additive should I use?

Change the water in your humidifier approx. every 10-14 days after each cleaning. Only add a new dose of additive when you change the water, not when you just top it off. See the back of the bottle to find the right quantity for the various models.

Can particles or substances from the Water Treatment Additive be emitted into the room air from the humidifier?

Venta Humidifiers work using the proven cold evaporation principle. This technology does not allow any release of particles or aerosols into the air. We engaged the technical testing organization TÜV Nord to certify this fact. TÜV Nord confirmed that no aerosols which can enter the lungs are emitted from the appliance, either with or without the Water Treatment Additive.

Does residue found in the lower housing and disk stack impair the function of the humidifier?

No. All residue found in the lower housing and on the disk stack (white, green-yellowish or brownish deposits) do NOT impair the function of the Venta Humidifier. Using the Venta Water Treatment Additive provides problem-free, hygienic operation.

Should more Water Treatment Additive be added when the appliance has run dry?

No, because the ingredients in the Water Treatment Additive do not evaporate. Simply add fresh water to reactivate the Venta Water Treatment Additive. One dose will help keep the Venta Humidifier from scaling up with mineral deposits for 10-14 days.

Why shouldn't I use any other additives?

Only additives from Venta are specially formulated for use on the plastics used for Venta appliances. Other additives such as perfumed oils (including essential oils) from drug stores and pharmacies as well as cleaning agents can damage the plastic. Venta accepts no liability for such damage.

Should I use the Water Treatment Additive in my LW60T, LW62T, LPH60, AW902, or AH902?

No. The Venta Water Treatment Additive is designed for use in Classic, Original, and Comfort Plus Humidifiers only. The Venta Hygiene Disc has been designed to be used in place of the Water Treatment Additive and provides 3 months of maintenance-free operation.

Does the Water Treatment Additive expire?

Yes. The Water Treatment Additive has a shelf life of 30 months from the fill date if unopened, or 12 months after opening. The fill date listed on the bottle is read by the year, followed by the week, followed by the day of the week (starting on Monday), followed by a check digit. For example, Ch.:2021122-0 would be filled in 2021, during the 12th week of the year, on the 2nd day of the week. In this example, the bottle would have been filled on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, and would expire in September 2023 if unopened.

What is the active ingredient in the Water Treatment Additive?

The Water Treatment Additive contains water, quarternary ammonium chlorides, and water softening agents. The Water Treatment Additive does not evaporate and therefore cannot be breathed in, so it is safe for humans and pets.

Can I use any essential oils in my humidifier?

Venta has specially formulated and tested our Aromatherapy line of all-natural essential oils permitted to be used in the Classic, Original, and Comfort Plus Humidifiers. Using a different brand will void the warranty.

How do I use the Venta Aromatherapy?

Ideally, in combination with a Venta Humidifier to create a natural, pleasantly scented atmosphere. Depending on the size of your room, simply add 5 to 10 drops of oil directly to the water tray. And enjoy!

How should I use the Venta Humidifier cleaner?

LW25/LW45 Comfort Plus and LW15/LW25/LW45 Original:
For thorough cleaning (approx. every 6 months), pour the entire contents of the bottle into the fresh water and let the appliance run on a low setting for around 2 hours. Then empty out the dirty water and rinse with cold water. We recommend that you ventilate the room during cleaning to avoid any odors which can occur if the appliance is very dirty.

LW60T/LW62T/LPH60/AW902/AH902:
Start the cleaning program by pressing the Clean button on the screen, then follow the instructions. You also need an 8.5-ounce bottle of Humidifier Cleaner.

Why should I use the Humidifier Cleaner from Venta?

Venta appliance cleaner is an eco-friendly, mild cleaning agent. It was specially developed to provide perfectly hygienic operation of Venta Humidifiers over a long service life. It is important never to use other, acidic cleaners or descaling agents. They often contain harmful additives (solvents, formic acid, etc.) and can cause stress corrosion on parts made from synthetic materials.

How long can I store the Venta Humidifier Cleaner?

If stored in a cool, dry place, Venta appliance cleaner keeps for up to 30 months if unopened.

Is the Venta Humidifier Cleaner corrosive?

The cleaner itself is odorless. However, if your humidifier or Airwasher is very dirty, cleaning may cause unpleasant odors. We recommend placing your Venta Humidifier next to an open window during cleaning (approx. 2 hours).

Do I still need the Venta Humidifier Cleaner if I use the Water Treatment Additive as recommended?

Yes, we recommend that you thoroughly clean your appliance regularly even if you use the Water Treatment Additive. This helps extend the service life of your humidifier.

What is the VENTAcel Filter?

The VENTAcel Nelior Filter is a patented air purifier filter capable of removing 99.95% of airborne particles down to ≥ 0.07 microns; this includes pollen, mold spores, pet dander, dust mites, bacteria, and viruses. The LP60 Kuuboid XL Max Air Purifier utilizes two VENTAcel Nelior Filters, while the LPH60 Kuubel XL-T Hybrid Air Purifier and Humidifier utilizes one VENTAcel Nelior Filter. The LW60T Kuube L-T and LW62T Kuube XL-T Airwashers are filter-free devices that do not utilize the VENTAcel Filter.

How often should I change the filter? How do I know when to change the filter?

The lifetime of the filter depends on the hours of operation and the air quality in your room. Generally, if you operate your air purifier for 24 hours a day, you should change the filter after 1 year. The interactive touch display will remind you of this.

What's the difference between the VENTAcel H13 Filter and a HEPA Filter?

The membrane of the VENTAcel H13 is especially fine and evenly structured. The fibers are just 100 nanometres thick. This means these filters hold back much smaller particles than HEPA filters.

Do VENTAcel Filters have a best-before date?

If stored in a cool, dark place, VENTAcel filters keep for several years.

Can the VENTAcel Filter be cleaned?

No. Once the lifespan of the filter has expired (as indicated on the interactive touchscreen) a new filter will need to be installed.
